Seedling plant with soil

When is it appropriate to perform soil detox?

Soil detoxification is generally aimed at removing harmful substances, pathogens, or excessive chemical residues from the soil. Below are some common scenarios and suggestions:

1. Can soil detox be performed on soil with growing plants?

  • Yes, but with caution: When performing soil detox in soil where plants are actively growing, ensure that the materials used are safe for plants. For example, natural and gentle soil remedies can help improve soil quality without harming the plants.
  • Recommended method: If plants are already showing signs of disease, use a natural spray such as Mr Ganick Cuka Kayu Concentrate (3ml mixed with 1L of water). Spray it around the soil and the base of the tree trunk. This method not only improves soil conditions but also suppresses pathogens.

2. Is soil detox more suitable for soil without plants?

  • A more thorough treatment: Detoxifying soil after removing plants is often better for large-scale soil purification or improvement.
  • Recommended methods: Use Mr Ganick Cuka Kayu Concentrate (5–10ml mixed with 1L of water) to disinfect the soil.
  • Or use Solarization method: Cover moist soil with a clear plastic sheet and expose it to direct sunlight for several weeks. The high temperatures generated will kill pathogens, pests, and weed seeds.
