It’s likely due to overwatering. Watering too frequently, especially with rice water, can cause the soil to stay damp for too long, creating a breeding ground for harmful fungi and leading to root rot—this is even more common in poorly ventilated indoor spaces.
Suggested adjustments:
- Place the plant under sunlight for about a week to help dry out the soil and restore root health.
- Switch to watering only once a week, or check the soil with your finger, only water when it feels dry.
- Stop using rice water, especially indoors or in poorly ventilated areas (it’s fine for outdoor plants).
- Spray Mr Ganick Pine & Bonsai Tonic RTU on the leaves and soil surface every 1–2 weeks to support plant immunity and prevent fungal issues.
